In order to load the patches into your machine you will need a MIDI interface for your computer and either a MIDI sequencer like Cubase, Pro Tools, Logic, or Sonar. Alternatively any other program that can send *.SYX (system exclusive) files to your ESQ1.  If you have neither I would recommend using either MIDI-OX or Freeloader, both of which are free downloads.

These patches will work in the ESQ-1 synth, ESQ-M rack module, and SQ-80 synth. Don't own any of these Ensoniq synths but still want to use these sounds? They also work perfectly in Siegfried Kullmann's amazingly accurate VSTi emulation of the SQ-80, the SQ-8L. Download it here for free!.
